Todays sermon and meditation reminded me of the sudden thunderstorms in Kansas. What I liked best about the thunderstorms was standing close to Daddy where I felt safe, and then looking for rainbows after the storm.
Gods timing is always right. A few years ago, we were going through a Dark Wood time in our life when our friends from Kansas, Boyd and Tona came to visit. Tona showed me a picture of a round rainbow circling the shadow of their airplane. As I gazed at that picture I felt at peace. I was reminded that God surrounds us and is in control before, during, and after our storm.
I know there will be more monsoons in the future. There will be times I will feel like I am in the Dark Woods. I will remember God is my weather man and He knows the outcome of my storm. When I try to control things that are beyond my reach, I need to hand the controls back over to God. All I have to do is stand close to Him and surround myself with the shelter of His peace and pray. Together He and I will await the glimpse of His rainbow.
