There were many recent days that I battled with the thought, am I going to keep steadfast in my faith, or live in fear? I was amazed at how upset I got just watching the negative adds as the candidates battled to become the next president of the United States. I no longer wanted to watch TV or answer my telephone.
What a relief when the election was over and President Trump was pronounced the next president of the United States. When praying the scriptures, I decided this will be my prayer today for President Trump and those he chooses to surround himself with. 2 Timothy 1:7 “For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.”
How frightening it must be for a newly elected President to awaken on November 9, amongst this civil unrest and realize he will have the weight of the world resting on his shoulders.
Abraham Lincoln once said; “I have been driven many times upon my knees by the overwhelming conviction that I had nowhere else to go.” What a great place to be driven. I pray that our President, his new cabinet and all the people in our country will develop callouses on their knees as they place their faith in God- and we can become “One Nation Under God.”
